Abernant Lake, Wales - Residential  13-17th October

A great journey, children are in high spirits.

We have arrived!  Settled into rooms and have spent 90 mins running around doing wide games … a lot of noise and charging around burning off the coach journey. Looking forward to tea!

The children ate really well .. loved the cubed potatoes … the evening activities were especially exciting in the dark. Compass work hide and seek was a lot of fun and the teamwork at the low ropes was exemplary. Everyone completed the course due to skill and encouragement.  The children settled really well for a first night and were all asleep by 10. .

A fantastic morning in the lake …. The children canoed and Kayaked… only one dip in the lake. They have just showered and are digging into chicken nuggets , burgers and the like! Very happy and warm. Some football during their break and then Lake Challenge ( zip wire) and fencing. The children are a delight!

A great afternoon of fencing and abseiling across the lake . The children are so enthusiastic and many are really pushing themselves to try new activities such as abseiling… so impressive. Mr Lim visited today which was great and joined the children abseiling and playing football.

...A really busy morning of paddle boarding, archery and abseiling. The children were so adventurous on the lake.. headstands, forward rolls and a lot of jumping in… they even managed to capture the instructor! Chicken wings , fish, waffles, jacket potatoes, beans, salad… the lunch was HUGE!

This afternoon was filled with archery, axe throwing, rifles and abseiling… what skills our children have acquired!

The children slept until we woke them this morning after their night walk. This morning we were lucky to have a beautiful, dry, clear day for our hill walk. We had a fabulous time , enjoying the scenery and learn about the Welsh countryside- and just being together . The children are hoarding collections of acorns and lichen! Looking forward to lunch.

A busy afternoon axe throwing and completing the obstacle course. They are now charging around the field doing team games.

A great evening of low ropes in the dark and rifles. The children were asleep before lights out. They are nearly packed up and ready to leave 1/1.30 pm.

We wanted to thank you for trusting us with your children for the week. They were so enthusiastic, resilient and incredibly adventurous. They are a credit to you all and we really enjoyed our time together.
